Bah Samba Feat. Joseph Philogene “Em Bo La” (Incl. Antonello Coghe & Filipe Narciso Remixes)
NULU009 | 2009-12-01 – BAH SAMBA feat Joseph Philogene ‘EM BO LA’ With Remixes by Antonello Coghe & Filipe Narciso Em Bo La was recorded last summer by accident late one evening at Julian Bendall’s house, featuring Joseph Philogene on Ngoni, making his vocal debut, singing what is in essence a variation on a nursery rhyme his mother used to sing to him as a child, in his native Gambian language. Joseph performs with Buccarr Ndow, one of the famous ‘Master Drummers of Africa’ who has sold out shows at The Royal Festival Hall in London, Oxford Cathedral and has performed all over Europe and the Uk. Inspired by Julian’s groove and enthusiasm he felt the time was now to share his vocal ability. Upon returning from his world tour with Bah Samba and Roy Ayers, Julian added the finishing touches to Em Bo La with instrumentation from band members Finn Peters (flute) and Tristan Banks (percussion). Nulu Music is excited to release another beautiful song connecting the world of music, cultures and beats. Check out the Hypnotic and the Percussive mix by Nulu’s own Antonello Coghe and Angolan producer Filipe Narciso (AM Roots), sure to get the dance floors moving.
